In the Night Garden is a British-American action/adventure film that was released on April 1, 2016 in the United Kingdom, and April 15 in the United States. Just like the namesake TV program, the movie was filmed mostly in live action, and features a mix of actors in costume, puppetry and computer animation. The characters include Igglepiggle, Makka Pakka, Upsy Daisy, the Tombliboos, the Pontipines (as well as their neighbors the Wottingers), the Haahoos, the Ninky Nonk and the Pinky Ponk. The movie however adds the stars from the American children's cartoon Little Einsteins (Harrison Chad, Aiden Pompey, and Erika Huang), as well as Inbetweenies star Aimee Petrovski, who portray a group of teenagers that help the Night Garden residents save the park (as well as the Night Garden) from being taken over by a bunch of bad guys in Nevada.

  • Natalia Wójcik as Candice, a shop clerk at Giant.
  • Aimee Petrovski as Lucia de Ribera, who is aged 16 and is Igglepiggle's owner
  • Harrison Chad as Carlos de Ribera, who is aged 18 and is Lucia's brother
  • Erika Huang as Anna Akahoshi, who is also 18 and is Carlos' classmate in math and language arts
  • Aiden Pompey as Matthew "Matt" Astier, who is aged 17 and is one of Carlos' childhood friends
  • Nick Chee Ping as Igglepiggle
  • Rebecca Hyland as Upsy Daisy
  • Justyn Towler as Makka Pakka
  • Andy Wareham as Tombliboo Unn
  • Holly Denoon as Tombliboo Ooo
  • Elisa Laghi as Tombliboo Eee
  • Leonardo DiCaprio as John de Ribera, the father of Lucia and Carlos
  • Jennifer Garner as Eliza de Ribera, the mother of Lucia and Carlos
  • Mindy Kaling as Jenny, John's boss

Principal photography for the new characters (Lucia, Carlos, Anna, and Matthew) took place in San Diego in February 2015, right after a team of local construction workers finished relocating the Night Garden. Filming lasted through April of that same year.

The soundtrack was released in the United Kingdom on March 29, 2016 and in the United States on April 12.
